Although it’s not one hundred percent pallet made, this terrarium stand it still wonderfully finished, and has a classy yet rustic appeal. With a few tweaks it could be made almost exclusively from pallet wood, but either way, much like the reclaimed wood terrarium builder mentions on his website, he didn’t think he’d be build one himself. Much like him, I was suprised to even see one since terrariums are quite rare, so I was excited to share this on the blog.

Here are a few of the images the woodworker posted on his website sharing his project.

An etsy seller known as the goathopper has created a line of colorful pallet wooden clocks that would be a great addition to any nautical or rustic themed home or office. The wood is reclaimed and often painted in distinct colors, which can more easily match the color pallete (pun intended) of the buyers choosing.

The name got me curious about what it meant, and when I clicked on the about page, I was pleasantly suprised to get a full definition of the meaning, which read:

“It follows that in villages throughout the Caribbean there existed a man who would, for a fee, scour your fields for goat dung, a valuable commodity used for fuel and to make coffee and cooking oil. He was the “goathopper” and required a keen eye and smell as dung from the kid (young goat) was to be avoided for its brittleness. Having never harvested goat manure, I still feel (like most artists) a connection in sharing the need for detailed focus. It’s my hope this “essence of goathopper” exists in every stage of production.

It begins when the wood is carefully selected for hardiness, character and compatibility. The wood is then matched to a color palette and ready for dressing. Color is key and I prefer developing my own which means no two batches are alike. Next up is a shot of character and seasoning via a 10 step, 2 day distressing routine I’ve developed through years of trial and error. My take is distressing can only be perfectly imperfect when it’s uniformly random. Every nick and blemish you see is there for reason. At some point in this process your clock takes on a personality with its own unique flavor that will forever be one of a kind. It’s now a goathopper.”

Check out one of the latest pallet furniture ideas I’ve seen on the web. This pallet kitty bed does not include the adorable kitten as seen in the photo!

Add a little paint, draw on some mice, and insert a warm, comfy pillow or blanket along with using less than half a pallet, and wallah, you’ve got yourself a happy kitty!

I just stumbled upon this video (show below) that shows a half dozen creative uses for pallets, including several creative pallet furniture ideas.

In the video you’ll see picnic tables, shoe holders, tool holders, and a fold-able chair!

Lots more ideas to inspire you to get out and start building your own unique pallet furniture!

I just so happened to stumble on a post over at busy days worthwhile which has a great article on this pallet furniture patio set that has several pieces of pallet furniture incorporated into an outdoor deck / seating area.

All the furniture was sanded down with an electric sander and was painted once to give the furniture a slight distressed look.

From the photos and article I see that there’s a outdoor sofa, dining table, coffee table, and planter! The patio looks great and I’m sure it was done on a shoestring budget.

I just stumbled upon a great tutorial over at instructables.com, that shows step-by-step how to build a pallet adirondack chair. Although it’s hard to find consistent sized pallets, the tutorial focuses on the average size pallet. It’s probably one of the best pallet furniture tutorial I’ve seen thus far.

Check out the pallet adirondack chair tutorial over at instructables.

A special thanks to Petra from bag of pretty for sharing these photos of an outdoor pallet garden set that she said is at her 80 year-old grandma’s house in Croatia. The pallets look a bit thick, but a whole set is something I have yet to see here on the pallet furniture blog.

The possibilities are endless with a bit of imagination and desire to create!

Both of these gems took approximately three hours each to complete and look pretty functional to me.
